Self’s Clothing Closet Available To All Low-Income

BUTLER COUNTY- Deciding what to wear for an important interview or to keep a job is not always an easy task. It is even more difficult for those who cannot afford quality clothing. Butler County’s community action agency, Supports to Encourage Low-income Families (SELF), has launched its new Clothing Closet at its 1790 S. Erie Highway location in Hamilton to help meet the need.

SELF can assist men and women in finding business formal and business casual outfits free of charge. Thanks to generous individual and organization donations, SELF is extending this invitation to all clients of other Butler County nonprofit organizations with a completed referral form.

The recent expansion to the SELF’s Hamilton office, located in the Hamilton Crossing Shopping Center, provides the space for this closet. SELF’s Clothing Closet is open Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. To visit the Clothing Closet on another day, appointments are necessary. Patrons may take up to three outfits within a six-month period.

SELF accepts donations to further its mission to empower low-income individuals to achieve, sustain and advocate self-sufficiency. For more information, to schedule an appointment or for interested volunteers, please call 513-868-9300, extension 214.
