Sharon Bengel is the Community Relations Director for SELF. She is responsible for all media relations and publicity regarding SELF’s programs and clients. She is the head grant writer and facilitates agency awareness throughout the community. Mrs. Bengel also oversees fund-raising development and special events. Mrs. Bengel serves on the Advisory Board of the Angel Fund of the West Chester Liberty Community Foundation. She is a member of the Butler County Development Roundtable, the WCPO Community Advisory Board, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the Society of Professional Journalists. An accomplished writer, Mrs. Bengel holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Ohio University's Honors Tutorial College. Her previous work includes writing for daily newspapers in the Dayton area and two years as Communications Director for the Ohio Association of Community Action Agencies. She joined the SELF staff in 2011.
